Depending on the season, some subset of the following comprises our daily regimen at the cage:

Quick discussion

check-in regarding the “test of the training” - game-time performance; tune the emphasis of the day’s training

Small weight arm circles with lunges & plies

fastball, curveball, change-up with full pronation; easy shoulder & elbow; arms front, side, rear

Jinga, box form with small weights

fastball, curveball, change-up per above; hips low, semi-lunge postition

Pitchers’ t’ai chi

10-count in 4 positions; balance & strenth

Hitters’ hip drills

initiation, isolation, full commitment

Catch

full body mechanics

Tee-work

Up & in, low & away; inside half, short to the ball; fully developed hips & energy commited in

Live hitting

off-side first, strong-side second; 1. bunt, 2. slash, 3. behind the runner, 4. up the middle, 5. “your pitch”; rotating daily emphasis on fastball away, change-up, & breaking pitch

Bullpen

Off-season = the “model”; breakdown & rebuild

In-season = injury prevention, strengthening, location

Technical aids

Radar, video, etc., twice a month
